I'm going to do something CRAZY in 2012

I decided today that I'm going to do something a little nutty in 2012.  I'm documenting this decision here so that ALL of you can hold me accountable to it.

I m going to try and combine two really fun ideas....Project365 and LOAD.  I am planning to make up for all the albums I never made myself by choosing to make an album a month using these two concepts.

Project365 challenges you to take a photo a day.  They explain it so much better than I ever will, so here's a bit from their webpage.

Why do it?

Taking a photo a day is a big undertaking with big payoffs. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider doing it:
  • Imagine being able to look back at any day of your year and recall what you did, who you met, what you learned… (Often we find it hard to remember what we did just yesterday or even last night, let alone a whole year ago!)
  • Your year-long photo album will be an amazing way to document your travels and accomplishments, your haircuts and relationships. Time moves surprisingly fast.
  • Taking a photo a day will make you a better photographer. Using your camera every day will help you learn its limits. You will get better at composing your shots, you’ll start to care about lighting, and you’ll become more creative with your photography when you’re forced to come up with something new every single day.
LOAD stands for a Layout a Day.  So I will literally be taking the one picture from each day and creating a scrapbook layout of it.

I doubt I'll be able to put all these layouts in one album, so maybe I'll try to make an album for each month.  OMG....this is going to be a CRAZY, FUN trip in what I hope to be a very fun year :)

I think my craft room is going to look like this for most of next year!  oh boy!

A Lilac Navidad

I realized that I had been neglecting some of my Spanish language stamps and really wanted to try and start using them some more, so I made sure to pull them out this week.

The Cutie Pie Challenge blog posted a recipe challenge that called for a lilac and silver color scheme, a fairy, 3 flowers or buttons, lace or ribbon and glitter.  Sounds daunting, doesn't it?

Well, I lucked out.  I had just received a cute digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps for my Card Cupids design team - this adorable mistle toe fairy.  So I used the recipe to help me shape her final look.

I also need to thank Deb, an instructor through Polkadots in Wisconsin for giving such a great intro class.  I feel my copic coloring skills have greatly enhanced from her guidance and I'm much more fearless in my blending!

Happy Bird-day!

Using another cute digital stamp from Bugaboo stamps, I decided to make one more card for Kathy's color palette challenge.  This cute little birdie has a coordinating sentiment (on the inside of the card) that reads, "Wishing you a Happy Bird-day!"  Love that :)

I also added a dash of sparkle to his little present box and balloon.

This is the color palette - in case you can't figure out from these two postings.
